Thankfully we hear in this city have the funded - not really sure how funded this vital service is... The whole place looked completely dark and the bays were not light up as one would expect to see at a fire Station, expecially the Apparatus Division that is attached to Fire Station NO. 2... Even the Garage Bays below the signage where it states that the Station is NO. 2... there was still an erie / foreboding sense that not a soul was around manning the building. I understand that it was a late at night, when these photos were taken, however a sense of activity in any fornication, should have been seen at some point, even if some of the men and women who are suppose to be in tbe station and ready to slide down those piles, if theybstillmdo the fire poll thing, its been some years since I have actually toured a station ans it was common practice backl 25 years ago.. however back on topic, someone who may have bee up because they may have been having a rough time sleeping, amdnis also a cigarette smoker (if their is such a thing, I don't think I have seen fire personal Egbert smoke a cigarrette in my life, not when they been seen by myself leaving their truck to go into/out of any type of retail establishment, be it a Grociers, coffee shop or outside of a station, the last not being a retail location... albeit, when off duty they do utilize their fire engines for personal errands, taking their trucks to the grociers or even stopping into a Starbucks, when running these errands they will not have their full gear on obviously, however a uniform is still in play though ... work uniforms are also underneath the gear that they quickly put on they to wear, to the site of emergencies, so it was kind of shocking to not see a soils in either back. Their are 6 bays in total, three under the Apparatus Division signage and three more under the Station signage, denoting which number it was in the city of London Fire Departments building numbers, hence the NO. 2 being what is on the signage above these 3 more bays... The pictures were taken at approximately 11:00PM, so not one bit of action in either of the bays, or on either side of the large building, which is very tall in height and equally impressive for its length, it is a building though, which has been built and designed for dual purposes, being to house a full scalled anf fuctioning Fire Station plus the pther Divisipn, which is basically.a gully functioning second station that is also special because of the machinery it houses as well as specialist gnash do man this area ( (which takes up the right half of the building... while Fire Station NO. 2 is the area of tne buildi g to the left. Two Fire Services are connected here on Florence, which japan's in other places jeté in the city as well... it really isn't all that unique by Fire Station standards. At least in Southwestern Ontario. NO action inside the station, not even the lighting in the second floor rooms, Florence Streets fronted, the 2 side facades including the backside of this big building, as I did walk the distance from Florence Streets facade to the rear of the building, both left and right sides. Not a window showing signs that life could be inside this most useful of Fire Stations. Towards the backend there were flood lights, they were blazingly bright. No places for station attendees to sit outside and relax though, like a table or even benches, so ... .. . so ... .. . strange. If you did find my review/information helpful, please 'smash' that thumbs up button! ... Thank-you.
